Hi all, this is a good reference site for those who looking at PMPs - PMP overall review by PCWorld, talks about the types, makes, etc
http://www.pcworld.idg.com.au/index.php/id;1039562914;pp;1 As a PMP400 owner, I'd have to say that the features offered matches those of the more expensive types.
... to follow through with my other blog ... this is about the battery life of my unit - it lasts only 1.5 ~2 hours on a Samsung disk. I have not gotten around to investigating whether there are any performance enhancement utilities similar to the Hitachi. I normally charge it fully in the morning and again during work hours before the leg home.
Note that a Portable Battery Pack (PBP) was available in Aldi stores for $99 which allows stored charge, different adjustable stepped battery output, 15 different types of connectors that can be handy if your PMP runs dry on battery. I carry this with me (300gm - same weight as PMP400) as well. Thank gawd the PMP400 has 2 types of charge connectors - the DC-in and USB-in. Unfortunately the PBP doesn't have a DC-in connector for the PMP400 but the USB-in works! It should carry a charge to extend the PMP400 for at least another 3 hrs - not tested. It claims a 8,000 mAh, whereas the PMP400 is a 3,100 mAh.
That's it for now. cL
